Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness

The Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness (IR&E) reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost and is housed within the university's Division of Academic Affairs.

IR&E plays a crucial role in supporting informed decision-making and continuous improvement, serving as a vital resource for data, analysis, and expertise. The primary functions of the office include

  • Data Collection and Analysis: IR&E collects and analyzes data from internal and external sources and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of institutional data.
  • Reporting and Compliance: IR&E prepares reports for internal stakeholders and external agencies and ensures the university's compliance with federal, state, and accreditation reporting requirements.
  • Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment: IR&E facilitates the assessment of academic programs and administrative services to determine their effectiveness, supports the university's efforts to improve student learning outcomes and overall institutional quality, and is heavily involved in the institution’s accreditation processes.
  • Strategic Planning and Decision Support: IR&E provides data and analysis to support strategic planning, policy development, and resource allocation. It helps university leaders make data-informed decisions that align with the institution's mission and goals.
  • Research and Evaluation: IR&E conducts research studies to evaluate the effectiveness of university programs and initiatives and conducts research on trends and issues in higher education.

To deliver accurate, timely, and insightful information to Bellarmine University faculty, staff, and administrators; provide support for strategic planning, assessment, and accreditation; and ensure compliance with required university reporting.
