What is the campus like and what kinds of facilities do you offer?
Our 135-acre campus consists of more than 30 buildings, featuring the Norton Health Science Center, the W.L. Lyons Brown Library, as well as seven residence halls, a chapel, campus center, and recreational facilities such as indoor and outdoor tennis courts; a fitness center; nine-hole, par-3 golf course; sand volleyball court; and athletic fields including a state-of-the-art stadium housing lacrosse, soccer, field hockey and track & field.

How large is your faculty?
125 full-time faculty, with 81 percent holding a Ph.D. or the highest degree in their field.

What is the average class size?
Average class size is 19. There are 29 students or fewer in 86 percent of our classes.

Who attends Bellarmine?
A diverse student body from 28 states and 24 foreign countries. Total enrollment is 2627, of which 1778 are full-time undergraduate.

How do the students rank academically?
Eighteen percent ranked in the top 10 of their high school classes. 51 percent ranked in the top 25 percent. For students submitting ACT scores, range for the middle 50 percent is 22 to 27; for SAT scores, range for the middle 50 percent combined scores is 1020-1250.

What majors do you offer?
We offer more than 50 majors in the arts and sciences, business, education, nursing and health sciences. Double majors are encouraged. Five year Accounting/MBA program. Graduate degrees include MBA, Executive MBA, MSN, MA Education, MAT, MSAIT (Applied Information Technology), MA Spirituality and a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Do you have any study abroad programs?
Semester, yearlong and summer study abroad programs are available in 43 countries on six continents. There are more than 130 programs of study.

What types of student activities do you have?

There are over 70 clubs and organizations – publications, student government, academic and pre-professional, theatre arts, music ensembles, and extracurricular organizations. The City of Louisville is known nationally for its theatre and orchestra. Students also enjoy the city’s minor league baseball. The Louisville Zoo is just 1 mile from campus and several city parks are within walking distance.

What athletics teams do you offer? Are there any intramural sports?
We have nine intercollegiate teams for women and eight for men. Our newest program is men's lacrosse, which plays at the NCAA Division I level. Our lacrosse team is a member of the Great Western Lacrosse League, which includes Air Force Academy, Butler University, University of Denver, Notre Dame University, The Ohio State University and Quinnapiac. All of our other teams play in NCAA Division II and the Great Lakes Valley Conference. There are also fourteen intramural and recreational activities.

Does Bellarmine have residence halls?
We have seven residence halls that are air-conditioned and carpeted. Students have the choice of double rooms, eight-person suites with two bathrooms, double rooms with adjoining bathrooms, single sex or coed halls. Our newest residence hall, Siena, houses its first class during the 2007-2008 school year.

What is your job placement rate?
Within six months after graduation over 90% of Bellarmine graduates are employed.

What is the cost of tuition and other fees?
Full-time tuition and fees for the 2006-2007 school year is $26,120; room: $4540; meal plan: $2970. For more information, please refer to our financial aid website.

How old is Bellarmine?
Bellarmine University is an independent Catholic university. The Archdiocese of Louisville founded the university in 1950. In 1968, Bellarmine merged with Ursuline College and became an independent university governed by a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. Bellarmine continues in the Catholic tradition, the oldest continuing tradition of higher education in the history of the world. The University was named for St. Robert Bellarmine, Jesuit, Cardinal and Saint.
