Study Abroad Opportunities

As a BMB major, there are a number of unique opportunities to study abroad, and we encourage our students to do so! Some of our students choose to study for a semester at a partner university abroad while others choose from a large number of Bellarmine faculty-led summer courses. Either way, these unique experiences provide students with the opportunities to experience the world of science and research in another country while witnessing world events through the perspective of another culture. In addition, students who study abroad tell us that they learn more about themselves, become more self-reliant and enjoy the unique experience of living within another culture.

If you are interested in these opportunities, you will want to plan carefully, beginning as early as your freshman year. To get started, attend a general study abroad information meeting, held weekly in Miles Hall (See the BU student calendar for date and times). In addition, the Study Abroad Fair is an annual event held in October that provides the opportunity to talk with program providers and students who have traveled abroad. Finally, visit Bellarmine's International Program website for tips and application procedures for studying abroad.

Deciding where to study for a semester abroad can be challenging. Below is a list of bilateral exchange institutions that have excellent BMB/Biology course options:
