Juniors and Seniors

As you begin the second half of your academic career at Bellarmine you may be focusing more intently on your career after graduation. The Career Center is here to help you clarify your goals and make decisions about careers and graduate school. Whether you are planning to enter the professional world immediately after graduation or planning to continue your education in a graduate program, we have resources and opportunities to assist you in this process.

Exploring Careers Options

  • Planning Your Future – Utilize career information available on SIGI3 and Vault to gain more in-depth knowledge of career fields and employers.  Attend topical workshops sponsored by the Career Center
  • Career Counseling - Review your plans with the Director of the Career Center, Ann C. Zeman Discuss next steps and additional opportunities for career exploration.
  • Career Workshops – Attend topical workshops on career fields, graduate programs, career related skill development and more.
  • Participate in the internship program - internship experience provides a hands-on opportunity to investigate career options, gain valuable career related experience, and network with professionals in your field. There are numerous internships available in the Louisville area in addition to national and international internships.
  • Participate in Campus Interview Opportunities – During the Fall and Spring Semesters, local, state and national employers conduct on-site interviews at the Career Center. Students must submit an approved resume to the Career Center to participate in the on-campus interview program. Interview opportunities on posted on our site and e-mail announcement are sent to students.
  • Attend Career Fairs - Seniors have the opportunity to participate in Spotlight on Employment, a career fair, sponsored by the consortium of private colleges and universities of Kentucky annually.

 Developing Career Related Skills

  • Continue to develop and update your resume - Utilize our on-line resources to create a resume.  Make an appointment with a counselor for a resume edit.  Participate in our monthly resume review program with a local HR representative.
  • Develop strong interviewing skills - Participate in an information interview with a professional active in the field to explore information about a specific career field. Participate in the bi-annual Mock Interview program to gain experience in interviewing.
  • Develop leadership skills- Participate in co-curricular activities and volunteer experiences. Keep your EDGE transcript updated

Graduate and Professional School

  • Investigate your post-baccalaureate education - Search our resources for medical, law or other graduate school options and information about graduate school testing.  Discuss opportunities with a Career Center counselor

Year of Service Opportunities

  • Consider a year of service – Investigate AmeriCorps/Vista and Peace Corps among other Post-Bac service opportunities
