news on the hill Bellarmine student wins speech competition Bellarmine University student Allison Pawley bested five other speakers to win the 3rd annual Speak Up Kentucki- ana intercollegiate speech competition, which was held on Bellarmine’s campus at the end of the spring semester. Her topic was “Rock the Vote.” The competition involved students from Bellarmine, Jefferson Community & Technical College and the University of Louisville. Rachel Platt, an anchor on WHAS-TV, served as master of ceremonies and the judges were Amy Broecker Kessler, vice-president, Broadway Across America’s Midwest Region, and John Blim, vice president & marketing director of the WHAS Crusade for Children.
