Transferring to a new school is a significant decision. Whether you are moving back to Louisville, attending through our 2BU partnership, or completing your degree, you will join a supportive community of faculty and peers. The Admissions team, Financial Aid Office, Student Success Center, Career Development Center, and Alumni Association are here for you.
Scholarship Opportunities
Transfering is more affordable than you might think! Bellarmine's generous financial aid offers mean your actual price is similar to that of state universities. We will work with you to compile the best comprehensive offer of financial aid when you’re ready.
Silver Scholarship
Bellarmine awards transfer grants to students who transfer from an accredited institution of higher education and have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Awards are based on review of the admission application, there is no separate application process. If you qualify, this award will be reflected in your initial scholarship offer that is awarded upon admission.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Each year Bellarmine University awards Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarships to incoming transfer students in the amount of $32,000! To be eligible for this award you must be a current member of your institution's PTK Chapter and complete our PTK Scholarship application. A committee will review all applicants and provide students with an update.

Partnerships
The Office of Strategic Partnerships works cross-collaboratively to strengthen, diversify, and enhance relationships with a variety of organizations. Discounted rates are available to students transferring from our partner community colleges.
Online Degree Completion
Designed for adult students with some prior college credit who are looking for an accelerated online path. This online program with options in Communication or Organizational Leadership gives credit for prior experience and allows students to complete their degree quickly and conveniently, completely online.
Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students
We are excited for you to achieve your goals here at Bellarmine. As a transfer student the process is dependent on how many credit hours you have already earned at another college or university. Select from the options below to learn more about getting started.
Transfer Students who have earned fewer than 60 credit hours
- A completed online application form. (Bellarmine Application or Common Application)
- Official college transcript sent directly from each college attended.
- Official high school transcript, GED or home school completion or diploma is required.
- The Office of Admission reserves the right to request additional information or a personal interview. Please note admission to an individual department program is determined by the department and not the Office of Admission.
Transfer Students who have earned more than 60 credit hours
- A completed online application form. (Bellarmine Application or Common Application)
- Official college transcript sent directly from each college attended.

Transfer Students for whom English is a second language
- A completed online application form. (Bellarmine Application or Common Application)
- An official Transcript Evaluation for college credit earned outside of the US from WES or The Evaluation Company. TOEFL, IELTS or MELAB score is required.
- TOEFL minimum scores are:
Paper-based: 550; Internet-based: 79 or 80; Computer-based: 213.
MELAB score of 78

KCTCS to Bellarmine (2BU) Transfer Students
- A completed online application form (KCTCS to Bellarmine 2BU app) - no application fee!
- Official college transcript sent directly from Kentucky Community & Technical College is required.
- Official high school transcript, GED or home school completion or diploma is required.
- 2.0 GPA and a minimum of 24 credit hours is required.
- The Office of Admission reserves the right to request additional information or a personal interview. Please note admission to an individual department program is determined by the department and not the Office of Admission.
