We’ll help you beat the summer blahs as you build your skills in a virtual classroom, theater or tech lab.
School is out, and this summer is going to be unlike any we have experienced before. One thing that has not changed, however, is that
summer is an opportunity for your child to engage, invent, create, learn and explore new interests through summer camps. There are tons of benefits to
attending summer camp, from making new friends to developing skills not covered in school curricula. But unlike in years past, most summer 2020 camps will be virtual.
Bellarmine camp instructors and staff worked quickly to create an exciting schedule of virtual camp experiences for children and youth. While many of the camps being offered are similar in content and instruction to what they would have looked like in-person, we also added some new options that translate well to a virtual setting. Topic areas include Tech, Test Prep/Study Skills, Creative Arts, Science & Math, and Career Exploration.

“Even though we can’t get together in person, we’ll still help you beat the summer blahs as you build your skills in a virtual classroom, theater or tech lab,” says long-time camp instructor George Halitzka. George notes that he
is looking forward to trying out some new things that normally are not feasible in the theater where he teaches his camps.
In addition to making camps virtual, Bellarmine has also developed new programs to engage high school students. Rising high school juniors can get an edge applying to their dream school with the 'Navigating the ACT and College Admission Process' camp. Our
“A Week in the Life of…” Career Exploration Camps offer teenagers a chance to experience firsthand the jobs that interest them. Guided by an expert in the field, campers can spend a week as an attorney, an environmental scientist,
a nurse, a pet care professional, or a sports broadcaster. In addition to fun activities and engaging lectures, campers will also get to meet and talk to guest speakers in the field.
Camps will be run using the Microsoft Teams platform, allowing students to meet virtually with their instructors and other campers in a secure space. Teams is accessible on a variety of devices through a web browser or the Microsoft Teams app. Materials
kits are included for some camps and will be available for socially-distanced pickup or shipping.
Camps will run weekly from June 8th through July 31st. Options are available for students from 2nd to 12th grade (high school seniors). Costs vary depending upon the program.
