As indecisive as I am, choosing which college to go to was not the easiest thing I have done. I remember having lists upon lists of potential schools and information about each one strewn about my desk. Looking back at how overwhelmed I had been, I wish I could tell myself I will figure everything out. Now I can say Bellarmine was the right choice for me.
I mainly sought out schools with my desired major. I wanted somewhere that fostered academic excellence while also encouraging me to take part in the community. Bellarmine offered just what I was looking for.
I am in the LEAP program, the early entry program for physical therapy, here at Bellarmine. I chose to major in Exercise Science. My academic advisor has been influential and encouraging in my short time I’ve been enrolled. I have received nothing but support and encouragement from the advising staff. The advisors are more than happy to help me figure out class schedules, keep me on track with my major and allow me to take courses to heighten my worldview. I have already engaged with numerous staff members and professors who are committed to making me succeed in my desired career.
As a freshman, I can say I still have a lot to learn, but the staff at Bellarmine has made the adjustment to college life easier than I imagined. In addition to feeling challenged in my coursework, I have become involved in several clubs and organizations during my first semester. These include Pre-PT club, Bellarmine Christian Fellowship, Student Government, and the Residence Hall Association.
Being able to engage with so many different groups around campus has allowed me to branch out and expand my comfort zone.
Coming into college with so many things going on in the world scared me. I wasn’t sure how I could still be involved and meet new people, but Bellarmine made it possible. Being able to engage with so many different groups around campus has allowed me to branch out and expand my comfort zone. Through various campus activities offered weekly around campus, I have met plenty of new friends, both under- and upperclassmen. Nothing can compare to the feeling I get when I pass my friends on my way to class or having someone waiting to walk to an event with me.
Despite the crazy world today, Bellarmine has made great efforts to improve student life around campus. Through these various clubs and campus activities, I can immerse myself in the campus community. I can say with full confidence that students here are the staff’s priority, both in and out of the classroom environment. Even though I have spent a relatively short time at Bellarmine, I can already say I feel connected to something bigger than myself.

All in all, I can say Bellarmine has provided me with a perfect work-life balance. I am proud to be a part of the Knight community. I can’t wait to see what the following years have in store for me.
