A third group of Kroger managers has completed the Rubel School of Business ’ Kroger Emerging Leaders Certificate program.
The 10 participants received their certificates on May 15 at the Kentucky Derby Museum following their final training session. Topics covered in the 10 half-day training sessions, which were led by expert instructors, included creative problem-solving,
conflict resolution, negotiation, financial valuation, and data analysis.
Jeff Smallwood, who attended Bellarmine for a second time, shared his experience: "Attending Bellarmine for a second time was a great experience. The knowledge and leadership skills I gained while attending this program are invaluable."
Austin Schobel echoed the sentiment, praising the program for its comprehensive approach. "I thoroughly enjoyed the Bellarmine Emerging Leaders Program. It has taught me a great deal about creative thinking, data visualization, and Excel to better
my career and resume. It has also allowed me to utilize different Excel capabilities daily to improve overall results and key performance indicators," he said.
Kroger selected the 2023-24 participants from across the division based on aptitude, leadership potential, and initiative.
Jorge Pazmiño, the Rubel School’s director of Graduate and Executive Education Programs, highlighted the significance of the program. "The Emerging Leaders Program showcases the power of partnerships between Bellarmine and the community
in nurturing talent and shaping the future of business leadership. The Rubel School of Business takes great pride in facilitating this partnership with Kroger, a company known for its commitment to nurturing and developing exceptional talent.
