This program prepares registered nurses for basic entry into operating room practice. Learn about the roles of the OR team, aseptic techniques, assessing the patient, successful preoperative procedures, gowning and gloving, handling surgical specimens, and much more.
The program requires a commitment of 4 classroom hours and 4 clinical hours per week for 8 weeks. Classes are held at a Louisville hospital and clinical hours are worked at a variety of hospitals. Textbook required. Enrollment limited to 20.
