James G. Archibald, Ph.D., LPCC

11.04.21._james_archibald_01James G. Archibald, Ph.D., LPCC (email) is a Professor and Department Chair of Higher Education Leadership. Previously, he was a Professor at Valdosta State University. He also served as the Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Valdosta State University where he provided strategic vision, leadership, organization, and supervision for the Division of Student Affairs. Dr. Archibald is a licensed professional clinical counselor and holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Ohio University. He has a Master of Science degree in Guidance and Counseling from Austin Peay State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Morehouse College. Dr. Archibald has received several awards, including NASPA Region III Outstanding Contribution to Student Affairs through Teaching Award, ACPA’s Outstanding Contribution to Recreation Award, and Bellarmine’s First Gen Student Advisory Award and Outstanding Mentor Award. Dr. Archibald serves as President of the Bellarmine Faculty Council.
