I have been a registered nurse for 23 years and have clinical experience in critical care, open heart recovery, outpatient surgery, the operating room, and endoscopy. I have a specialty certification in the operating room as well. I earned a master's degree in nursing in 2011 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I have worked for over 11 years as a nurse practitioner in primary care and specialty practice. I moved into my faculty role almost 2 years ago, but have continued my clinical practice as a nurse practitioner as well. I love to teach undergraduate nursing students, accelerated nursing students as well as graduate FNP students. I look forward to meeting you during your journey at Bellarmine and helping you reach your academic goals!

In the undergraduate program, I enjoy teaching health assessment, evidence-based practice, and leadership courses. In the graduate program, I teach graduate assessment, foundations of scholarship, program development, and simulation in health professions education. Outside of the classroom I get to work with FNP students while in their practicum courses and doctoral students while in their immersion courses. My research focus is quantitative evaluation of competency in the simulation, clinical, and interprofessional settings. I am the co-developer of the C-CEI and the C-ICE, which are valid and reliable instruments used to evaluate competency of nursing students and interprofessional student team competency.

I too am a Bellarmine Accelerated Nursing graduate. It is an exceptional program and I was happy to rejoin the institution in a faculty capacity. My primary teaching areas are mental health, leadership and management, evidence-based practice, and various clinical settings. The most rewarding part of my day is interfacing with students.

Hi there! A little about myself, I have taught for 11 years and have really enjoyed it. My background includes pediatric and community health nursing. I have earned all my degrees from Bellarmine, so I know the program and university very well! I am the course coordinator of Community and Public Health. I love seeing students learn about their communities, social determinants of health that our patients face, and exposing them to all the different roles a nurse can have outside of the hospital.
