ZOOperstars! to perform at Bellarmine

January 3, 2007

On Thursday, Jan. 11, Knights Hall at Bellarmine University will host an evening that promises top notch entertainment for the whole family. In addition to the outstanding basketball action featuring the Bellarmine Knights against the University of Missouri-St. Louis, the world famous ZOOperstars! will make a special appearance at the Bellarmine doubleheader.

These hilarious inflatable characters have performed in Japan, Mexico, Canada, and across America for teams such as the Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, and Orlando Magic. They currently perform more than 200 shows a year, and will be entertaining fans of all ages at their old stomping grounds of Knights Hall.

The ZOOperstars! feature goofy mascots such as Shaquille O’Seal, LeBronco James, Clammy Sosa, Whale Gretzky, Mia Hammster, and many more. Many of these larger-than-life characters will be on hand Jan. 11 to dance, slide, bounce, and flat out bust a groove!

The ZOOperstars! are one of the most popular sports entertainment acts around, and they were created by former Bellarmine soccer player Dominic Latkovski, who also created the zany Professor Knight character in the mid 1990s. Their appearance is being sponsored by the Bellarmine Alumni Association.

The evening of hilarity and exciting basketball begins at 5:45 p.m. as the nationally ranked women’s team takes the floor. The men’s game will follow at approximately 7:30 p.m. All fans are being encouraged to wear white “knightwear” as the night is being billed as a Bellarmine “White Out.” General admission tickets are just $6 for adults and $4 for children (ages 6 to 18). Children younger than 6 are free. For ticket information, call 502-452-8380.
