Bellarmine University Women’s Council announces 2007 Designers’ Show House

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 20, 2007)—The Bellarmine University Women’s Council will sponsor its 34th Annual Designers’ Show House Sept. 8-23 at Elmwood, located at 260 Leland Court off Chenoweth Lane in St. Matthews. Parking for the Show House will be at the Masonic Home, located at 3701 Frankfort Avenue.

Elmwood is a magnificent historic landmark home built around 1859 and is only one of several remaining historic Herr Houses in Jefferson County. The Designers’ Show House will include 25 design areas with over 5,000 square feet and feature interiors designed by over 30 Louisville-area designers.

Show House hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Meet the designers from 5 – 7 p.m.); and Sunday, noon to 7 p.m. Doors will close 30 minutes prior to published closing times. The Boutique is open same as the Show House hours. This year the Café will be catered by Strawberry Patch Catering. Hours for lunch are: Monday thru Saturday 11:00 – 2:30 p.m. and Sunday 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Tickets are $12 and available at the door. Beginning Aug. 25, advance tickets may be purchased for $10 at the following locations: Colonial Designs (3712 Lexington Rd.); Details (13833 English Villa Drive); Liz at Home (141 East Main St., New Albany, IN.); Tassels (12004 Shelbyville Road) and Wilson and Muir Bank (130 St. Matthews Avenue). All proceeds benefit the Bellarmine Student Financial Aid Fund.

The Bellarmine University Women’s Council was formed in 1963 and currently has membership of approximately 400 women from the Louisville area. The Council introduced the Designers’ Show House in 1974 and has contributed more than $1.4 million of proceeds from this annual event to the Bellarmine Student Financial Aid Fund. The Council also supports and assists Bellarmine in its cultural affairs, campus beautification, athletic and library programs.
