Veritas fall courses to begin in October

The Veritas Society, a lifelong learning institute sponsored by the School of Continuing and Professional Studies of Bellarmine University, will host a course preview reception on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. in Frazier Hall on the Bellarmine University campus. New or returning Veritas students will be able to learn about and register for classes scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 1.

The six-week fall semester will offer 20 courses. Course studies include: “The Judicial System: I'm Going to Sue You”; “Environmental Issues Update”; “Immigrants and Refugees: Challenges and Solutions”; and “The Language Horses Speak”. For more information and a course catalog, phone 452-8374.

The Veritas Society Lunch and Learn Series will begin on Monday, Oct. 1 at noon in Hilary’s in Horrigan Hall on the Bellarmine University campus. The featured speaker for the kickoff luncheon will be David Roth, General Director of the Kentucky Opera. Subsequent Lunch and Learn meetings will be held on successive Mondays at noon at the same location. The cost of all six L&L events is $60. To make reservations for the first luncheon, as well as the entire series, call Patty Murrell at 452-8374. Individual lunches are $11 each and may be reserved by calling the Wednesday before each L&L meeting.
