Bellarmine University Lansing School establishes FNP program

Bellarmine University’s Lansing School of Nursing and Health Sciences has announced the creation of a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program. The Lansing School will offer two courses from the FNP curriculum during the Spring 2008 semester and will introduce the full curriculum in the Fall 2008 semester.

Students will be able to complete all courses for the program within one calendar year, and graduates of the FNP program will be eligible to progress directly into the Lansing School’s planned Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Details of the new doctoral program will be announced at a later date.

Bellarmine has appointed the Rev. Michael L.Huggins, Ed.D.,as the associate director of the program. Fr. Huggins, a priest of the Archdiocese of Louisville and Bellarmine alumnus, holds a doctorate of education from Spalding University and is in the process of earning his Ph.D in nursing at the University of Kentucky.
