Bellarmine University’s theology department will host the annual Vernon Robertson Lecture in Theology on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Wyatt Center for the Arts on Bellarmine’s campus. Gary Dorrien will deliver this year’s lecture titled “The Crisis and Necessity of Protestant and Catholic Liberalism.” The lecture is free and open to the public.
Dorrien is a distinguished scholar in the fields of church history and social ethics. He currently serves as the Reinhold Niebuhr Professor of Social Ethics at Union Theological Seminary and is a professor of religion at Columbia University. He is the author to a series of books titled The Making of American Liberal Theology.
