LOUISVILLE, Ky. (August 20, 2009) – U.S. News and World Report has named Bellarmine University to its 2010 list of America's Best Colleges. This is the 16th year in a row the magazine has included Bellarmine in the list. The rankings are in the September issue of the magazine, which hit newsstands today, August 20. The magazine ranks Bellarmine 15th in the southern region of the "Best Universities - Master's" category.
The magazine ranked 1,400 colleges and universities based on a variety of criteria ranging from academic reputation to alumni giving. The 2010 America's Best Colleges features the established rankings of the Best National Universities, Best Liberal Arts Colleges, and Best Historically Black Colleges, and includes rankings of Best Colleges for Financial Aid, A+ Schools for B Students, and Up-and-Coming Schools. This year, U.S. News has further expanded the ranking categories to also include Best Colleges for Undergraduate Teaching.
Bellarmine University is an independent Catholic university offering more than 50 majors, as well as graduate degree programs and a doctor of physical therapy. Forbes.com and the Princeton Review also rank Bellarmine among America’s best institutions of higher learning.
