Bellarmine University students made dozens of cards for young patients at Norton Children’s Hospital as part of a service project led by Alpha Phi Omega members on Tuesday afternoon.
Alex White, an Alpha Phi Omega member, said the organization would deliver the cards to the hospital on Wednesday. Everyone who made a card as part of the service project also received a Valentine’s Day card from the event's organizers.
“We decided to do this because we realized that there were a lot of children in the hospitals over Valentine's Day,” said White. “We decided we would make some cards earlier in the week then hand them out today to students who make cards for the children in the hospital, because they deserve some love on Valentine’s Day, too.”
Alpha Phi Omega is a national coeducational service organization founded on the principles of leadership, friendship and service.
