On this week’s episode of Bellarmine Magazine’s podcast --
The Pineapple -- Dr. Linh Nguyen, interim director of Bellarmine University’s
Office of Identity and Inclusion, explains why that office is one of the hidden gems on campus.
The Office of Identity and Inclusion presents students with a space to share opinions on current events and social justice issues as well as host celebrations such as Black History Month, Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month and Pride Week.
“The physical office serves as a ‘brave space,’” Nguyen said during the podcast. “[That’s] what we call it, for the institution, so the students are able to not just hang out and engage with one another and socialize in that space, but they’re also able to discuss kind of the hot-button topics and not feel judged for their opinions.”
