Volunteers of America became nearly 250 pillows richer on Tuesday.
Bellarmine purchased the pillows for a recent summer camp on campus. After the camp ended and the pillows were no longer needed, assistant vice president of student affairs Patrick Englert and students from Bellarmine’s orientation team took the pillows to a local Volunteers of America campus.
"Volunteers of America is so grateful to Bellarmine's generosity who donated pillows that we will use throughout our Shelby VOA Recovery campus,” said Gema Moreno, community engagement manager for Volunteers of America. "At this location, we help men exiting the correctional system, veterans overcoming addiction and pregnant and parenting moms who are working hard to beat addiction and start new lives. We usually are serving nearly 100 individuals throughout the building and are always in need of support and donations that help to make our clients’ experiences more comfortable and productive. The gift of all these pillows will help us to reach that goal and make a real difference in the lives of the people we serve."
