As freshman move-in day draws near, we asked several incoming students a variety of questions to get to know them a little better. Over the coming weeks, we will share some of their responses as a sneak peek into the incoming class of 2022.
Today we will highlight the responses shared with us by Hana Ibrahim.
Why did you pick Bellarmine?
I picked Bellarmine because like my high school, there is a sense of community here. The students at Bellarmine not only strive to be the best version of themselves, both academically and morally, but they help their peers achieve the same goals. The class sizes and the beautiful campus is also a nice bonus.
What aspect of campus life are you most looking forward to?
Getting involved with campus activities and clubs, but mostly studying abroad!
Is there anyone in particular you'd like to thank for helping prepare you for this new part of your life?
Besides my amazing sisters who have been with me through everything, I would like to thank my college advisor, Kit Llewellyn. Kit met with me literally almost everyday to help me get into colleges and get financial aid. Her constant motivation and just lovely chats has helped me tremendously through senior year and the college process. Kit was not only my college advisor, she was and still is someone who I have so much respect for, but most importantly she is a friend.
Do you know what you want to do after you graduate?
I would really like to go into travel nursing. I've always loved to travel and this way I can do it with a purpose.
One of the most common ice-breakers on campus is “Tell us your name, major, and an interesting thing about yourself.” Do you have an interesting fact or story about yourself you’d like to share?
Fun fact: in July of 2012, Bellarmine's Governors Scholars Program helped build my house through Habitat for Humanity. That was the first time I heard about Bellarmine University and I fell in love it.
