This week’s episode of Bellarmine Magazine's podcast,
The Pineapple, features the director of Bellarmine University's Career Development Center, Dr. Lilly Massa-McKinley. She discusses the Bellarmine internship guarantee and job shadowing.
The
Bellarmine internship guarantee is a promise to every student that they will have the opportunity to participate in an internship and gain real-world, professional experience before they graduate.
Job shadowing allows students to see a day in the life of a professional in the field they plan to pursue. It may not always be glamorous, said Massa-McKinley, but it will help give students an idea of what an industry is truly like.
Massa-McKinley says connecting with students is a priority for her office. As they learn a student’s interests and personality style, they can suggest different careers to the student and offer them opportunities to job shadow.
The
Career Development Center is located in the ground floor of Centro's McGowan Hall. Drop-in advising is available to students on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with no appointment necessary.
The Pineapple is a podcast produced by Bellarmine Magazine that provides listeners with exclusive content from the Bellarmine community.
