The
Impact Academy is a yearlong fellowship that assembles outstanding educational leaders and provides them with support and resources to aid
in fostering long lasting change within their educator-preparation programs. DFI, a national non-profit organization committed to ensuring that every child is taught by a well-prepared teacher, aims to fill the need for a diverse educator workforce
through this fellowship.
Under Dinkins’ leadership, the School of Education has made significant strides. The school has developed two new teacher leader cognates, inaugurated
an early start MAT program, received the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)’s Frank Murray Recognition for Continuous
Improvement and crafted an innovative strategic plan.
Becoming a fellow for this prestigious fellowship presents an opportunity for the advancement of inclusive education that excites Dinkins.
“I am honored to be part of such a wonderful group of leaders—from diverse institutions and backgrounds—all committed to educator preparation and justice,” Dinkins said. “It is rare to have so many of us in a space where
we are encouraged to collaborate and learn from each other—and given the time, structure and support to do so. I know it’s going to be hard work, but the potential is enormous. It’s a real gift.”
Fellows will participate in monthly learning sessions, receive one-on-one coaching from seasoned leaders and engage with peers to address challenges facing their field. They will hone their ability to engage faculty, staff, communities and PK-12 partners
in a shared vision for transformative change.
