Bellarmine University’s students will benefit from $47,038 raised during Giving Tuesday this year, an 88% increase over the amount raised last year.
Bellarmine received 118 total gifts, including:
- $28,138 for Bellarmine’s Student Emergency Needs Fund, which provides essential resources like food and clothing assistance.
- $6,580 for the Bellarmine Fund, which allows the university to flexibly respond to the immediate needs of our students, faculty, schools and programs.
$12,320 for athletics and designated academic programs, including the Donna and Allan Lansing School of Nursing and Clinical Sciences.
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that takes place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, allowing nonprofit organizations to raise money to support their work. Bellarmine has taken part in Giving Tuesday since 2019. This year, the fundraising event
was on December 3.
“The generous outpouring of support from alumni and friends of Bellarmine will have an incredible ripple effect on student success,” said Dr. Liz Todd Byron, Executive Director of Experiential Learning and Community Engagement. “The
Student Emergency Needs Fund ensures students have access to food, transportation and clothing, along with a safeguard from unexpected costs that arise. This Giving Tuesday success demonstrates the Bellarmine Impact in which the community
rallies to guarantee every student’s sense of belonging, wellness, engagement and purpose."
