Bellarmine University is committed to providing an equal educational opportunity and full participation for persons with disabilities. Adapted housing space is limited, and spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. It is the responsibility of the student to register with the Office of Accessibility Resource Center if special accommodations are needed when applying for housing. This meeting must be done in person. Students are encouraged to schedule this meeting prior to June 1. In addition, the students should complete the “special needs” section of the application. The Residence Life Office will respond to requests for appropriate and reasonable housing accommodations in a timely manner.
Appeals may be filed if a student or the student’s parents or advocate believe that the University’s policy or the student’s housing assignment does not reasonably accommodate the student’s disability or endangers the student’s safety or health.
