The Bellarmine Math Center is an open and inclusive space for students to receive free tutoring, complete coursework, and build foundational math skills. We have drop-in tutoring hours as well as availability for appointments outside of these hours. We are located in the lower-level or Pasteur Hall near the Mathematics offices. Our tutors receive a comprehensive training and have either succeeded in the course or are mathematics majors or minors. We are all here to help!
Our Mission
The mission of Bellarmine University’s Math Center is to support students in building a strong mathematical foundation essential for their academic journey. We are dedicated to easing the transition to college-level math by offering personalized free tutoring, collaborative learning opportunities, and a welcoming environment where students can develop confidence and skills. Our goal is to empower students to overcome challenges, foster a life-long love for learning, and equip them with the tools needed for success in their future coursework and careers. We aim to establish a robust foundation that ensures students are proficient in employing the mathematical skills necessary for everyday life.
What to Expect
When you enter the center, you will need to sign in using your Student ID number (you can find this on your student ID card, so bring that with you!). You then have the option of working at one of our many computer stations or using your own materials. A tutor, professor, or the director will be in the center during all drop-in hours to assist you. If the center’s hours do not work with your schedule, feel free to schedule an appointment.
Services
The Math Center offers drop-in and by-appointment tutoring from trained tutors. We also offer many computer work stations. The center can be used for personal work time as well!
