Academy of Acute Care Physical Therapy Core Outcomes Measures Knowledge Translation Taskforce
Two Bellarmine University Doctor of Physical Therapy graduates were selected to be members of the Academy of Acute Care Physical Therapy Core Outcomes Measures Knowledge Translation Taskforce. Only eight individuals were selected for this task force from a pool of national applicants and included two Bellarmine DPT graduates, Dr. Megan Eickenberry (BU DPT Class of ’07) and Dr. James Crick (BU DPT Class of ’15).
The members of this newly created taskforce aim to assist in the dissemination and implementation of the anticipated publication identifying a core set of outcome measures recommended for acute care physical therapist practice. The group will heavily rely on the use of knowledge translation strategies targeting clinical practice, education (entry level, residency, and post-professional) and administration. Taskforce members represent the diverse membership of APTA Acute Care who will be using the core measures including a variety of clinicians, administrators/leaders, academic faculty and researchers. This is anticipated to be a multi-year project with a goal to begin efforts by the end of 2021.
