Residential Living Policy

On-campus residence affords students added opportunity to become fully involved in college life. All full-time students with 88 or less credit hours must live in the residence halls or with a local parent/guardian (within a 50-mile radius of the university). Students 22 years of age or older are exempt from this policy.

Students seeking other exceptions to the Residential Living Policy must submit an application to the Director of Housing and Residence Life.

For additional information about the Residential Living Policy or any other residence hall policies and procedures, please see the Guide to Residence Hall Living in the Student Handbook.

Housing Exception Information & Forms

Housing Exception forms and any supporting documentation (as indicated on the form) should be uploaded into your housing application (available in your housing portal).

Meal Plan Exception Information & Forms

Students may request a meal plan exception based on medical dietary need, financial hardship, or religious dietary observance; and the request for a meal plan exception must be accompanied by supporting documentation (as outlined on the request form).

For students with medical dietary needs, we require that you meet with Joe Chism, our District Campus Dietitian, for a consultation to assess how our dining options may meet those needs without an exception. He can be contacted via email (Joe.Chism@sodexo.com).

All meal plan exception request forms and supporting documentation should be submitted to the Residence Life Office by email (reslife@bellarmine.edu).
