    Bellarmine University has named 566 undergraduate students to its dean’s list for the 2007 spring semester. The dean’s list recognizes students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or better on a four-point grading system.

    2007 Jazz Guitar Clinic and Concert announced

    Bellarmine University and Director of Jazz Studies Jeff Sherman have announced the 21st Annual Bellarmine Jazz Guitar Clinic and Concert will be held June 4 and 5. The clinic and concert will feature instruction and performances by Sherman and special guests Jack Wilkins and John Stowell. The concert will take place Monday, June 4 in the Wyatt Center for the Arts on the Bellarmine campus at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the concert are available in advance at Music-Go-Round on Hurstbourne Lane for $7. Tickets also will be available at the door for $10. The clinic will be held June 4 and 5 in the Music Building on Bellarmine's campus.

    Bellarmine Physical Therapy students sponsor "fun run"

    Bellarmine University’s physical therapy department will sponsor a “Fun Run” at the Louisville Zoo on May 26. Proceeds will benefit the Jefferson County Public Schools’ physical therapy fund, which provides needed equipment and services to children with physical challenges.

    Bellarmine May commencement to feature Wendell Berry as speaker

    Bellarmine University will award 89 master’s and 354 bachelor's degrees during its 54th annual commencement exercises on Saturday, May 12. The commencement speaker will be Wendell Berry, celebrated American writer, farmer and conservationist. Ceremonies will begin at noon in Knights Hall on Bellarmine’s campus.

    Wagoners inducted into mock trial coaches’ hall of fame

    Bellarmine University Mock Trial coaches Ruth and Jim Wagoner were inducted into the American Mock Trial Association Coaches Hall of Fame. The honor is given to coaches who have not only produced excellent, competitive results over a long period of time, but also to those whose programs have upheld the high ethical standards of the American Mock Trial Association.

    Bob Woodward to deliver Wyatt Lecture on March 20

    Distinguished author and journalist Bob Woodward will deliver the 2007 Wilson W. and Anne D. Wyatt Lecture on Tuesday, March 20 at Bellarmine University. Woodward’s lecture, “State of Denial” will begin at 7 p.m. in Knights Hall on Bellarmine’s campus. The lecture is free and open to the public. No tickets are required, and seating will begin at 6 p.m.

    Bellarmine University exhibits collection of rare books and manuscripts

    Bellarmine University is hosting an exhibit titled “Faith, Freedom and Governance” that features rare documents and books from the collection owned by The Remnant Trust, Inc. The exhibit will be displayed in the W.L. Lyons Brown Library until May 14, and it will be housed in the Frazier Board Room as well as the display case on the first floor.

    Veritas Society announces spring classes/events

    The Veritas Society, sponsored by Bellarmine University School of Continuing and Professional Studies and affiliated with the Elderhostel Institute, offers a variety of special six week courses for folks who are 54 and older. This spring Veritas is offering 17 classes and four discussion groups. A "Lunch and Learn" series also is in the offing for the spring.

    Cahill to lecture at Bellarmine

    Renowned theologin Lisa Sowle Cahill will present a lecture titled “War and Peacebuilding: Global Challenges for Christian Ethics” on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Amy Cralle Theatre in the Wyatt Center for the Arts. The lecture is sponsored by the Bellarmine University Theology Department and is free and open to the public.
